Our Story

Our Story

Producers Hybrids started in 1987 in Battle Creek, Nebraska with the goal of bringing high yielding products to the market to fit farmers' needs. In 2005, wanting to provide customers with a broader base of genetics, Producers Hybrids joined AgReliant Genetics -  the largest seed-only business and third largest corn seed company in the United States. Today, we market in seven western states (South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri & Colorado) and are still focused on the needs of each farm.

With access to world-class, global genetics and a research program that is second to none, we are proud to offer corn, soybeans and alfalfa products that have a proven track record across our seven-state territory.

Each of our hybrids are required to pass rigorous genetic testing that starts in the lab and continues in the field against our competitors. Only survivors of that testing end up in Producers Hybrids bags. Year-after-year, our products outperform our competition.

Who is Producers Hybrids?

Producers Hybrids started in 1987 in Battle Creek, NE and joined with AgReliant Genetics (the third largest corn seed company in the United States) in 2005. We primarily cover seven Corn Belt states (South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Colorado and Kansas).

Who is AgReliant Genetics?

AgReliant Genetics is the largest independent seed-only business and third largest corn seed company in the United States. The company was formed in 2000 as a joint venture between Limagrain, a French-based farmer-owned company, and KWS, a family-run company headquartered in Germany. AgReliant Genetics is headquartered in Westfield, Indiana and has the 3rd largest research program in the United States.

Are AgReliant Production facilities located in the United States?

Yes! The majority of Producers Hybrids corn is actually grown and packaged right in the Battle Creek, Nebraska area. AgReliant Genetics is one of the few seed companies today with our own private library of genetics and we have access to genetics and biotech traits from all over the world! Our seed corn is grown within miles of the production facility located in Battle Creek, NE and is processed and packaged right in Battle Creek.

Do you do research in my area?

We sure do! AgReliant Genetics has 14 research stations spread across eight maturity zones and each station has 8 to 10 test sites within a 150-mile radius. Five of those research stations are focused on breeding hybrids for the western Corn Belt we cover so we can zero in on the development of high-yielding corn hybrids that meet the unique demands of your customers' farms.

What is di-haploid breeding technology and how does it help me and my customers?

Using conventional breeding technology, it can take nine years to bring a hybrid to market. With di-haploid breeding technology, that time can be cut in almost half, enabling us to place new and better hybrids in your hands even faster.

How do I know how Producers Hybrids products will perform in my area?

There are many great ways to see how Producers Hybrids products will perform for farms in your area. On our Yield Results Tool, you can sort down by location and even hybrid to see how particular products performed near you. Our Plot Map Tool allows you to see where plots are so you can watch them progress throughout the year.

We know the best way to see how a product performs is to do your own testing. If you're interested in testing Producers Hybrids products in your area against the competition, let us know. We will help you get everything you need for a plot in your dealership area so you can see our products firsthand.
